Ambulatory Care is a same day emergency care unit which cares for patients within the Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital from 7:30 till 22:00, seven days per week. Specialities include; surgery, Orthopaedics, medicine, stroke and neurology. Patients attend for planned appointments or are referred to the unit via GP, Emergency Department, Specialist Nurses or NEAS.

We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic, highly-motivated and caring member of staff to work in this area.

The successful candidate will be expected to work as part of a dynamic nursing team delivering all aspects of care to patients.

We are seeking to employ an additional Ward Manager within Ambulatory Care. If you are a highly motivated and enthusiastic nurse this maybe the position for you.
The position is to work within an emergency hospital on a same day emergency care unit, that specialises in patients receiving medical and surgical care, avoiding hospital admission.
The post holder will be required take charge of the unit, assist with HR, appraisal and health roster processes, as well as lead on new projects to enhance patient experiences.
The successful candidate will have experience in leading teams and must be able to role model compassionate and inclusive leadership. In order to shape the creation of a collective leadership culture within the Trust.

We manage three major locality hospitals at North Tyneside, Wansbeck and Hexham, plus a number of smaller community hospitals and clinics from Tynemouth to Berwick on Tweed, in addition to our state-of-the-art Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital, the first of its kind in England. We also care for people in their homes and provide services from facilities in local communities such as health centres. We give people greater choice and control over their care to help them to live independently at home and avoid hospital admission where appropriate. High quality patient care is at the heart of everything we do and we strive to ensure every single patient and service user has an exceptional experience with us. We have one of the most extensive patient experience programmes of any trust in England.

To assume responsibility for the management of the department, including the assessment of care needs, the implementation of evidence based programme of care.

To supervise, support and educate junior members of the team.
To provide senior nurse site management cover.
To exercise accountability as set out in the NMC Code of Professional Conduct.
To be responsibility for all nursing care standards and to maintain high clinical standards.
To act as team leader and co-ordinate the multi-disciplinary care of a group of patients.
To role model compassionate and inclusive leadership in order to shape the creation of a collective leadership culture within the trust. This means demonstrating a consistent leadership style which (a) engages, enables and empowers others (b) uses coaching to promote ownership of learning and quality improvement and (c) facilitates team working and
collaboration within teams / departments and across organisational boundaries.
