Job description

Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Dundee, is currently looking to recruit a TRAC Accountant for an initial 6 month contract on a rate of £400/day (Inside IR35). This role will be remote.

 
Responsibilities:

 
For our client to move from dispensation to a fully compliant TRAC reporting model the following actions are required:

 
Build a new TRAC reporting model to cover:

 
Governance

1. Roles & responsibilities defined
2. Annual calendar of events and key actions agreed

• Constitute Committee of the Governing Body

1. Constitute TRAC Oversight Group

 
Income & Cost Allocation to Teaching, Research & Other

1. MSI Calculation – (Margin for Sustainability and Investment)
2. Identification of appropriate cost drivers to allocate all non-direct costs (Support costs)

- Workload planning data
- Staff & student FTE and headcount data
- Estates data
- IT Services
- Library
- OfS / HESA data

 
Cost centre analysis of APTOS to define TRAC categories:

1. Direct cost pools:

- Staff direct expenditure
-Non-pay direct expenditure
-Research direct expenditure

1. Determine & define TRAC:

-Academic departments
-Central departments
-Commercial (Other) departments

 
iii. Identify non-direct institutional support costs:
- Indirect
- Estates
 
Essential Skills:
 
- TRAC experience
