Job Profile:
As a Sr. Analyst, UK Customs Compliance, you will be responsible for Ensuring trade compliance at Alcon Eye Care UK by collaborating with various stakeholders to create and streamline trade compliance processes and managing costs. In this role, a typical day will include:
- Manage customs-related compliance and related cost mitigation activities and ensure compliance with customs regulations for Alcon Eye Care UK.
- Identify, implement, and manage cost mitigation and simplification opportunities, customs special procedures, and other authorizations (e.g., AEO, TSS).
- Ensure customs and export compliance information is submitted timely to customs brokers, including where other government agency regulations are involved.
- Implement customs broker instructions and KPIs and ensure customs broker compliance and service level requirements are met.
- Monitor customs laws and regulations, assess impact on Alcon, and work with affected stakeholders to determine appropriate responses.
- Perform periodic post-importation review to ensure trade compliance.
- Verify account statements and confirm payments made to HMRC.
- Handle HMRC Compliance Verifications and other post-filing inquiries and requirements.
- Support restricted-party screening and sanctions compliance processes.
- Provide trade compliance support for projects, new business opportunities, and proposals.
- Various other duties as may be required.
What you’ll bring to Alcon:
- University Degree or College Diploma. Specialized customs degree and customs competency certification considered a strong asset.
- Four years of experience in customs and/or sanctions compliance management
- Strong knowledge of customs tariffs, customs valuation, export controls, sanctions, and related regulations.
- Experience with SAP / GTS software considered a strong asset.
- Strong communication skills and interpersonal skills.
- Good organizational, analytical, quantitative, and qualitative skills.
- Excellent skills using Microsoft Office tools: Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint,and Word.
- Ethical, self-motivated, and capable of working under minimal supervision
