Process excellence demands that we understand and inspect our processes, connecting the underlying data and systems, simplifying and streamlining where possible. It also demands that we measure through assessment and KPIs how effective, efficient and active the processes are, fostering a culture and mindset that is focussed on continuous iteration and improvement.
The Process Excellence (PEx) team is a central function within JLR responsible for overseeing process definition, performance assessment, benchmarking, process architecture, implementation and performance improvement. The teams primary focus will be to establish and implement a comprehensive process excellence framework, drive process optimisation efforts, and ensure alignment with organisational goals and objectives.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
Provide guidance and support to Global Process Owners in process design, documentation, and implementation activities prioritised based on achievement of the 10 Enterprise business outcomes and most significant ‘levers’ in the driver trees for the 10 Enterprise KPI’s.
Responsible for building relationships with stakeholders, influencing and driving the adoption of enterprise level process standards.
Collaborate with stakeholders to understand process requirements, identify improvement opportunities, and develop process design solutions that align with organisational goals.
Support the development and maintenance of GPO owned process documentation, including process maps and data flows, data lineage and driver trees, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and compliance at the top levels of our QMS.
Drive the implementation of standardised “level 3” processes across the organisation, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure successful adoption and change management.
Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure team performance and monitor and analyse performance data to identify areas for improvement for the efficiency of operation (cycle time, throughput, right first time, etc) and effectiveness of its output.
Ensure every process, to level 3, has a clearly defined Global Process Owner (GPO) that is accountable for its operation execution and tangible continuous improvement focus.
Support in building the five core capabilities for Process Excellence in JLR: Process Structure, Process Accountability, Process Improvement, Process Architecture and Process Implementation.
What You’ll Need
Ability to define and create a function agnostic, simplified process structure / network that represents our business, based on value creation / dataflows.
Practical experience of an enterprise tool set for process excellence – mapping, documentation, etc.
Experience of process improvement methodologies, such as ADLi / LeTCI, Lean, Six Sigma Black Belt, are highly desirable.
Strong understanding of the dimensions of process definition: process flow, data lineage, digital architecture of systems and connection to enterprise KPI’s and business performance targets.
Proven experience in process improvement, process excellence, or related roles, with a track record of successfully leading and implementing transformational change initiatives.
Strong leadership abilities, with a demonstrated track record of leading and developing high-performing teams.
Experience in a structured problem-solving method – 8D or similar.
