Job description

At DigitalKOG, we are looking for an experienced Content Marketing Strategist to join our team. If you love planning and delivering high-quality and engaging content and drive business success with it, we want you on our team!

As a Content Marketing Strategist, you will be responsible for developing and implementing the overall content strategy for our clients, based on their specific goals and objectives.

Your ultimate goal is to help drive leads for our clients’ businesses and nurture potential customers through the sales funnel, as well as ensuring SEO sits at the heart of client content strategies. You will do this by planning content across non-paid channels such as: email, brand owned social channels, and websites.

You will foster a collaborative work culture with the creative, content and development team, ensuring your content strategies are brought to life with engaging copy and innovative formats. Content is only one part of a bigger marketing service to help our clients’ businesses grow, so you will also work closely with other teams such as paid search, social media, web development and creative, helping you to develop an understanding of multiple digital marketing channels.

As well as Content Managers, this role will suit someone from a PR, journalism, general marketing or account management background who is looking to develop their career in a content focused role.

Knowledge, Skill and Ability

This is a strategic role in a fast-paced agency. No two days will be the same and a typical day in the life will see you being involved in a whole range of tasks, such as:

• Performing local, regional and national market research to determine market trends, demographic data, customer buying habits and competitor product offers.
• Keeping up-to-date on SEO trends.
• Conducting regular competitor research and analysis.
• Generating ideas for content.
• Developing a content strategy for our clients and in conjunction with the wider team, building quarterly content calendars for our clients.
• Researching new topics based on organic traffic behaviour and performance.
• Reviewing SEO performance and reporting on organic traffic.
• Collaborating and briefing the creative, content, web development and social teams on new content ideas.
• Engaging with clients to understand their stories that can be leveraged to make great content.
• Identify opportunities for newsworthy content to drive outreach.
• Overseeing the team’s content output to ensure it is aligned to objectives.
• Setting deadlines and making sure they are met.
• Developing and ensuring everyone is adhering to a style guide.
• Editing content where necessary.
• Keeping track of progress of projects.
• Testing content elements to improve performance.

We are looking for someone who

• Brings energy, creativity, and a proactive approach to DigitalKOG.
• Possesses 3+ years of content management experience. Ideally in the home improvement / retail sectors, but not essential.
• Is an innovative thinker. Someone who demonstrates an out-of-the-box mindset, constantly pushing the boundaries of creativity, content, and exploring uncharted paths.
• Is experienced in content creation planning and delivery at a strategic level.
• Is a clear communicator, with a knack for crafting briefs and supporting the copy team to get the most out of a piece of content.
• Is able to craft their own content for brands when needed.
• Is able to apply a content-first, persona-led approach to campaigns.
• Understands SEO and how good content impacts results.
• Thrives in a fast-paced agency environment.
• Has the ability to track and analyse performance across non-paid channels, with a strong attention to detail.
• Is personable and able to manage the relationship between clients and the team.
• Always goes the extra mile to surprise and delight clients.
• Is naturally inquisitive and wants to get involved, learn and develop.
• Is able to work flexibly, on their own initiative and as part of the wider team, helping to deliver integrated campaigns.
