Job description
Job Summary:
As a Trainee HR Advisor, you will be responsible for providing a professional end to end HR/Business support service to all stakeholders. You will offer support and advice to both employees and management ensuring high service standards are adopted and met through all aspects of the business and support the HR Advisor/Head of HR as and when required.
Key Responsibilities:
Work with the internal Talent Team to ensure the supporting administration for new starters, leavers, promotions are completed in a timely and efficient manner.
Support managers and employees on a range of HR issues, including Employee Relations and Attendance Management.
Prepare all HR documentation for employees and line managers e.g. letters, contracts, and any required templates.
Ensure all policies and procedures are adhered to according to the Employee Handbook
Electronic filing and maintenance of employee documentation
To provide the Head of HR with ad hoc reports as and when required including monthly and HR dashboard data.
Conduct regular audits to ensure employee/business information is up to date.
Ensure any ad hoc reports that are requested by stakeholders are processed as and when required.
Update the HRIS by assessing, adding, changing information as and when required and spot any trends.
Support with any general administration to support the HR Advisor/Head of HR
Be responsible for note taking at meetings as and when required by the HR Advisor/Head of HR
Suggest and identify new HR processes to improve day-to-day operations.
Support colleague and management relationships, responding to any queries or problems that they have and manage their expectations.
Keep up to date with employment law and ensure compliance in all areas is adhered to.
Provide practical and logical solutions to solve problems/queries quickly.
Consult with payroll and support with monthly payroll reporting as and when required to ensure minimal errors occur and weekly and salaried pay reviews are conducted.
Ensure Organisation Charts are updated/changed as and when the business changes.
Support with the administration of benefit packages
Consult with the Head of HR and HR Advisor on more complex employee relations cases.
Assist with the implementation of new policies and procedures when the business dictates it and be able to amend and update any existing policies and procedures to an acceptable standard.
Any other tasks required as and when requested by the HR Advisor/Head of HR
Attend any HR training as and when required that will support the development of the trainee role and increase HR knowledge and skill set.
Qualifications and Experience:
Must show a strong interest in developing a career as a HR Advisor
Be able to build strong relationships and trust with all levels of the business.
Be confident in meeting with managers or departmental representatives to discuss and advise on HR policies and procedures to support casework issues.
Previous experience of working in a HR Team for 1 year or more and experience of HR tasks.
Currently working towards or attained CIPD Level 3 with a view to progressing on to CIPD Level 5.
Excellent organisational and administrative skills.
Ability to advise and work with all levels of colleagues and be able to respond to ad hoc queries.
Basic Knowledge of employment law.
Personable with strong communication and written skills.
Driven and determined.
Works well under pressure.
Proactive and able to work on your own initiative with a strong work ethic and a “can do” approach.
