Job description

Pulse seeks a determined and experienced Band 8a Clinical/Counselling Psychologist to join our client’s Learning Disabilities team within a private service based in Cardiff, Monmouthshire. This position will be available for the appointed candidate to start as soon as possible, offering full-time hours per week on a permanent basis.  

This role is being offered at Band 8a to an experience Clinical or Forensic Psychologist, however applications are welcomed from newly/recently qualified Clinical or Forensic Psychologists on a Band 7/8a preceptorship. The successful candidate will be able to progress to a Band 8a role within 18-24 months of appointment/post-qualification, on the condition of meeting agreed competencies.

The psychologist will join a vibrant and well-established clinical team consisting of a Consultant Clinical Psychologist, Consultant Psychiatrists, Assistant Psychologists, Learning Disability Nurses, Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Dietician, and Activities/vocational team.

As part of this specialist multidisciplinary team the successful applicant will hold responsibility for delivering behavioural, psychological and forensic interventions to service users; and support to the teams around them.
