About Us
The Disabled Children and Young Persons Social Work Team supports children and young people who are aged 0 - 18 years old with significant needs arising from their disability. The team aims to ensure that disabled children and their families have access to a needs-led service that promotes resilience, co-production and improves children’s life chances. To do this the team will work with partners to make sure that every child has an accurate assessment of need, with a plan that sets out how support will be delivered, with the aim to improve outcomes. This is an exciting time to join us as we head into a transformation and expansion of the teams.
About you
As a Social Work Team Manager within the Disabled Children’s Service, we’ll ask you to lead and support a team of social workers to deliver services of the highest quality. Ensuring statutory duties and best practice is followed, you’ll develop a team plan in line with Children’s Services strategic objectives and provide management oversight on all children. You need to be able to have a clear understanding of risk for vulnerable children. Your role will focus on managing the team’s workflow and quality assuring work through observations, reflective supervision and GCC’s quality/ practice assurance framework, as well as contributing towards the development of the framework itself. In this role you will be working alongside the Early Help team within Disabled Children ensuring a smooth transition for children between services. You will be expected to build positive relationships with colleagues within both the service and partner agencies, you will ensure we are able to provide support and protection for vulnerable children and young people across the county
