They are now seeking a talented Lead Data Platform Engineer to join their dynamic Data and Analytics team.
Role Overview:
As a Lead Data Platform Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing the technical landscape and effectiveness of the organization's data platforms. You will provide technical leadership, drive cultural change, and establish best practices within the data team. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the creation of a data center of excellence, ensuring the highest standards of data governance and quality are upheld.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and inspire the Data Platform Team to embed best practices.
- Collaborate with IT Strategy and Architecture teams to align technical direction with strategic objectives.
- Implement and manage development, test, and production environments across data platforms.
- Integrate new data pipelines while ensuring compliance and data quality.
- Liaise with internal data governance and security teams to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Stay abreast of the latest technology trends and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Develop and maintain operations manuals/run books for associated services.
Desired Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience with cloud platforms, particularly Azure.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting, diagnostics, and event log management.
- Strong background in data management, warehousing, modelling, and analytics processes.
- Familiarity with Azure data platform tools such as Databricks, Data Factory, and Data Lake.
- Knowledge of PowerBI, R Studio, and Alteryx server management.
- Fundamental understanding of Unix and Linux.
- Experience with source control, code repositories, and release management technologies.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to bridge the gap between business, data, and IT.
- Proven supervisory and self-management experience.
