he Hermitage Hotel is in the Aoraki National Park. The National Park is a breath-taking environment of glaciers, terminal lakes, turbulent rivers and Australasia's tallest peak, the mighty Aoraki Mt Cook soaring above at 3,724 metres.
As the Assistant Food and Beverage Manager it is your opportunity to be part of this unique and iconic property. The Food and Beverage department is split over two properties, The Hermitage Hotel and Mount Cook Lodge. As the Assistant F&B Manager you will be part of a team that delivers our guests world class service through our large team in the Department.
The Role involves
- Delegating the outlet managers and senior F&B staff on daily duties, extra tasks and supervising that all tasks are completed correctly
- Work closely with the FBM, Executive Chef and senior chef on duty to ensure cohesion of service and excellent guest experience
- Planning and organizing future booking and/or events. Ensure the smooth running of events as well as staffing and preparation
- Ensuring that the restaurants and bars are adequately prepared before each meal service – tools and equipment, manning, systems working
- Addressing guest issues, making good judgement calls and experienced in making sound decisions
- Train new staff on F&B procedures and assisting the FBM in curating training manuals, SOPs when needed or required
- Contributing to driving sales, revenue, and exhibiting cost saving strategies
Qualifications & Skills Required:
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role or at a senior operationallevel within Food and Beverage
- An eye for detail and the ability to motivate and lead a team
- Proven record of results within previous customer service roles
- Experience with F&B systems, processes, and procedures
- Computer literacy in Microsoft office and booking systems
- Strong time management skills, mentoring/coaching, problem solving abilities
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- A Duty Managers Certificate or the ability to obtain one
- Currently working and/or residing in NZ would be an advantage
