Job description
Due to an increase in Marine work at Expleo, we have an immediate requirement for an Integration Engineer to champion the Systems Engineering approach on Major Infrastructure Projects.
The candidate will provide guidance and development of best practice techniques to support the application of the Business Management System to requirements management, design integration and technical interfaces. The candidate will manage design integration between assets, elements, systems and products. Manage technical interfaces throughout the project lifecycle.
Supports the Operations and Integration Manager on aspects of Integration and Interface Management within the Project by:
- Preparing/updating the Interface Management Plan.
- Reviewing/coordinating the Product Breakdown Structure and producing/updating the System Interface Matrix.
- Running regular Integration Workshops and Interface Review Meetings with Design Leads and Design Houses.
- Liaising with BIM Coordinators to highlight spatial interfaces and constraints in the Federated Model.
- Maintaining the Interface Reference List as a tool for Interface Management. Reporting on the status of interfaces to the Operations and Integration Manager.
- Reviewing Interface Agreement Forms and checking compliance with Interface Management Process.
- Liaising with the Project Team to ensure that assumptions, risks and dependencies associated with integration are recorded, where required.
- Ensuring the facility layout is optimised and meets User Requirements.
- Assisting with the planning and execution of Functional Activity Reviews.
- Implementing continuous improvement for the Interface Management Process through engagement with the Interface Management Working Group.
- The Integration Engineer should have a degree in an appropriate discipline, e.g. Civil, Structural, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering or Architecture, or equivalent work experience that provides knowledge of and exposure to fundamental theories, principles and practices.
- The Integration Engineer should be recognised by an industry/professional body, e.g. Chartered Engineer registered with Engineering Council, or working towards this status. Knowledge and experience of submarine maintenance and/or design in the nuclear industry is beneficial to the role.
The Integration Engineer can originate from a varied engineering background, but should be suitably qualified and experienced to:
- Apply a Systems Engineering approach.
- Operate throughout the design life cycle.
- Implement design coordination on multi-disciplinary projects.
- Ensure design risk is effectively managed and communicated.
- Deliver engineering management best practice, including configuration control.
- Demonstrate commercial awareness and knowledge.
- Display strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Active SC clearance or willingness to obtain SC clearance to carry out the role.
