The role
The Light house and No Wrong Door programme is a pioneering way of providing support to young people who are within or on the edge of the care system.

The key objectives of The Light House are to improve residential practice and decision making and to reduce the number of care experienced children, so that the best choices are made for every child, and overall results are improved. The light house provides short to medium term residential care for children and young people as well as delivering outreach to families on the edge of care.

This post is to cover the maternity leave of the registered manager and is to work within the Light House No Wrong Door home (Registered Children's Home). There will be an occasional need to travel to meet the needs of the service. The role is fixed term until 01 October 2024.

About you
We are looking for an experienced, dynamic, and motivated individual, manager and leader to manage the service in the absence of the registered manager. This is a truly unique position. You will be responsible for the management of The Light House residential home, that includes the direct line management of a multi-agency team including 2 deputy managers. You will also be responsible for a range of diverse placement options for the most complex, high risk young people. You will also manage services, which include edge of care, activities and bespoke placements along with the two deputy managers.

Acting as the Children’s Home Registered Manager you must have a minimum of two years residential care experience within the last 5 years as well as having prior experience in a senior worker or management role within the previous two years.

You must have sound knowledge of the Children’s Home Regulations and Quality Standards along with a workable knowledge of the Ofsted Inspection Framework.

You will provide clear management, leadership and direction to the Light House team.
