Your new role

My client is seeking an individual to provide expert Employee Relations (ER) advice that encourages and enables line managers across the business to take accountability to resolve employee relations cases in line with employment legislation and social policy.

Key responsibilities include:

• Provide pragmatic and timely advice remotely on a wide range of cases including disciplinary, grievance, appeal and investigation meetings and ensure they are completed in a timely fashion.
• Coach and influence line managers to ensure the right outcome is achieved.
• Aid in the management of employment tribunal (ET) claims, collating and preparing documents.
• Assist in the management of employee consultation, redeployment or termination of employment through TUPE and redundancy exercises.
• Assist in the review and amendment of employment policies in line with changes to employment legislation and ACAS codes of Practice.
• Attend hearings and meetings by exception as the management representative to advise and take notes.
• To participate in the provision of formal training to colleagues to improve their capability in managing Employee Relations (ER) cases, including conducting investigations and formal hearings, conduct versus capability, decision-making and note-taking.
• Provide reports that identify the number and types of cases and outcomes. Make recommendations to further improve the business's approach to managing all Employee Relations (ER) cases.
• Ensure all information collated is accurate and timely.
• Support the delivery of the wider HR strategy across the business.

Working hours: 39 / week Monday-Friday. This role offers hybrid working of 2 days office (Portsmouth) vs 3 days home per week on average beyond probation (but this could be sooner for the successful candidate).

What you'll need to succeed

This role will suit someone who has experience in an ER specialist or an ER biased HR generalist role who has both supported and led ER investigations, ideally CIPD qualified (Level 3+). Any industry will be considered, but a background in retail, leisure or hospitality is preferred.

You must be highly organised, resilient and commercially aware with the ability to coach and influence people at all levels. This role will also require you to plan and prioritise effectively, being comfortable working with changing priorities.

What you'll get in return

You will receive a market-led salary between £33,000-£35,000 (DOE) per annum, 26 days holiday +BH\'s, pension matched to 5% and hybrid working as above.
