We're currently recruiting for a Head of Learning and Development, the successful candidate will lead a high–performing central function, delivering the implementation of agreed strategic objectives across the UK Business Units, supporting colleague engagement and retention by leading and co–ordinating career development, succession planning, talent management, leadership development and professional development initiatives that make M ller a great place to work.
Your key responsibilities for the Head of L&D will be to:–
- Develop and oversee the delivery of an agreed learning and development strategy, in conjunction with the UTM Group Head of L&D/Talent Management, respective Business Unit Executive Boards and other key internal stakeholders, considering the short, medium and long term strategies of the UK business
- Build effective, collaborative working relationships with relevant senior leadership representatives, site leaders, HR teams and subject matter experts to understand and continually re–evaluate organisational learning and development needs to ensure they are aligned with business need, current regulatory and legislative requirements
- Build and create robust methods for tracking, data reporting, evaluating and analysing performance of the L&D function and the effectiveness of the programmes it delivers
- Lead and coach the Learning and Development team to ensure it is high–performing and value adding through effective recruitment, induction, training, development, performance management and leadership of all members of the team
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the L&D function to ensure processes and practices are continually reviewed and lessons learned lead to ensure best practice across the BU's
Key skills & experience for the Head of L&D
–- Demonstrable experience of successfully developing and implementing learning and development plans across a fast moving, complex organisation
- Comfortable operating in a matrix organisation and delivering through others as part of a shared vision
- Demonstrable experience of successfully developing and implementing learning and development plans across an organisation
- Persuasive influencer who is comfortable communicating at senior leadership level
- Evidence of Strategic involvement in previous roles
- Strong project management skills, to be able to prioritise time and workload and be able to multitask in a pressurised environment
- Strong leadership skills
- Capacity to embrace and create change
