At Teenage Helpline , we are a tight-knit community of people who are passionate about make a difference in the lives of young people across the UK

Teenage Helpline is an online peer-to-peer mentoring service for young people. We can act as the first stepping-stone for young people who do not feel comfortable seeking support for themselves, or who need a listening ear to help them cope with personal issues. 

All of our volunteers and employees are remote workers. We have great systems in place to allow our employees and volunteers to get to know each other, work effectively together and do great work! 

We are a flexible organisation that values the contributions of everyone. We will never ask more from our volunteers and employees than they can give, but we are sure to celebrate and recognise their efforts. 

About the role

As Head of Procurement, you will report directly to the General Counsel of the Charity, providing critical oversight to our Procurement Processes. This exciting role will play a leading role in ensuring that Teenage Helpline closely follows its Financial Policies, especially when procuring goods and services. You will partner with Charity executives to understand their needs, and provide support in getting the best value for the Charity.

Responsibilities 

• Directly oversee the Procurement process for the Charity, including implementing new processes and systems.
• Liaise with key internal stakeholders, including the Contracts Manager, Legal Team and Executive Team.
• Provide guidance and support throughout the procurement process to ensure that Teenage Helpline is always getting a strong deal, and negotiate commercial terms to protect the interests of the charity. 
• Lead procurement projects, especially those where the charity will be entering into longer term agreements as Teenage Helpline grows.
• Directly influence the growth of the charity by ensuring that any goods and services procured by the Charity are fit-for-purpose and at good value.

Skills  

• Ability to effectively engage with both internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to negotiate.
• Experience in overseeing or executing Procurement processes.
• Ability to influence internal stakeholders, including Charity executives, to ensure that Teenage Helpline gets the best deal.

The Process

Our hiring process typically has three stages 

1. Video or Written Application (when applicable) 
2. Interview with the Talent Team
3. Interview with the Hiring Manager
