Accounts Assistant

20 hours per week over 5 days, times tba

This lovely company are recruiting an Accounts Assistant to support the Company Accountant with purchase and sales ledger. Knowledge of Sage Line 50 is an advantage.
Experience as an Accounts Assistant is essential.
Your daily to do list will look like this;
Purchase ledger:
Check, code and input invoices / credit notes to ledger once matched to purchase order / delivery notes / grns where appropriate.
Applying correct VAT treatment of EU invoices.
Maintain ledger on accurate & timely basis.
Reconciliation of supplier accounts.
Responding to supplier queries.
Reconcile and post monthly credit card statement calculating correct VAT from receipts / invoices provided.
Marking off deliveries against purchase order log.
Maintaining supplier accounts.
Sales Ledger:
Downloading bank statements.
Opening new abd maintaining existing customer accounts on sales ledger and ERP System.
Credit Control function, posting cash received to ledger accounts on a daily basis, sending month end statements to customers, chasing outstanding debts by telephone and email.
Investigating resolving customer queries.
Production of monthly credit control report.
Maintain ledger on accurate and timely basis.
Raising & posting manual credit notes as required on ERP system.
Maintaining customer mailing list.
Other duties:
Filing & archiving of invoices, credit notes and other documentation.
Assisting Office Manager with purchasing of stock.
Petty cash control.
Any ad hoc duties as required by the business.
