Job description
Robert Half are recruiting a Group Tax Accountant on a permanent basis with a business based in Swindon. This role would suit someone with previous experience of working in practice in a tax capacity, or someone with similar experience in the private sector.
The role
The Group Tax Accountant is responsible for a range of duties, working closely with the Finance Manager to manage tax related queries and deadlines. This role could be full time or 0.8 FTE/4 days a week and will be based from the Swindon office at least 2 days a week. Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Preparing group tax returns including corporation tax, VAT, and other indirect taxes.
- Supporting with delivering on all tax related deadlines on a quarterly, half yearly and annual basis.
- Preparing MI for senior leaders and conducting financial analysis.
- Liaising with the internal stakeholders within the business on tax related queries.
- Partnering closely with external tax advisers as required to maintain Group strategic planning, tax risk management and change.
- Assisting with the HMRC Business Risk Review.
- Developing processes and maintaining controls.
- Month end duties to include posting tax journals and monthly reconciliations.
- Leading on internal tax related projects.
Profile
This role would suit someone with the following skills/attributes:
- ACCA/ACA/CTA studier or qualified.
- Experience of working in a tax related practice role or an in house tax role.
- Strong communication skills with business partnering capabilities.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Experience of working with multiple finance systems and/or complex businesses would be advantageous.
Package
- £45,000 - £55,000 base salary.
- Hybrid working with 2 days on site in the Swindon office.
- Full time 5 days a week, or 4 days a week/0.8 FTE can be considered.
