About the Employer

I am the mother of a teenaged boy with Autism, learning disabilities, scoliosis and a visual impairment. He likes to be out and about, loves going for rides in cars, swimming and has a fascination with lifts and escalators. He can show difficult behaviours and must be kept away from dogs and young children as he can attack them. He can also hurt himself if he gets frustrated. He dislikes loud noises and children and being told "no".

About the Role

Duties and Responsibilities

• Support and/or prompt with personal care. This may include toileting,
showering/bathing, getting in and out of bed, getting dressed.

• Support to get to and from school/work/college/social activities.

• Assist and encourage socialisation, participating in activities.

• Promote and encourage friendships and independence.

You will work 2:1 with another PA. You will be required to take my son out for socialising and activities such as swimming, going to the shops, walks, drives in the car and going for food.

The individuals needs may vary from day to day and your tasks may reflect this. You could be required to perform other duties as reasonably required.

You have a responsibility as an employee to report all accidents to the employer immediately. You have a duty to report defects and / or hazards which may give rise to an accident. You are to ensure the safety of the individual at all times.

Due to the nature of the work for which you are applying, this post is subject to a satisfactory DBS disclosure (costs will be covered).

Transport Requirement

Car driver and car owner – must have business insurance.

Required Skills

• Be honest, reliable, trustworthy and punctual.

• To work as part of a team.

• Previous experience in childcare/special needs is essential.

• Be self-motivated with a willingness to get involved.

• Have a lively personality.

Must be experienced in dealing with challenging behaviour

When you are Required

• Saturday,

• Sunday,

Dates and times are flexible and can be discussed at interview.
