Job description

A leading, global reinsurer with an exceptional reputation are currently searching for a dynamic Valuation Actuary to join their Life and Health team in Munich. Requirements:

• Either a fully qualified actuary, or a part-qualified actuary who is actively working towards qualification
• Experience with IFRS 9/17 regulatory frameworks: Solvency II knowledge is beneficial
• Reserving/Reporting background, a Pricing actuary who is eager to move into Reserving will also be considered
• Knowledge of capital and cash-flow modelling tools (AXIS)
• Knowledge of programming such as SQL and Python would be beneficial
• Fluent in English, other language skill are welcome but not required
• An innovative and communicative work approach, with the ability to explain complex results and an enthusiasm to participate in enterprising projects
• Strong business acumen with the ability to liaise with senior financial stakeholders

Responsibilities:

• Prepare appropriate models, portfolio data, and assumptions as well as set up valuation systems in order to onboard new business
• Develop a thorough market understanding in order to conduct reserve movements and result drivers analysis relevant to IFRS9/17 and Solvency II
• The ability to effectively communicate complex valuation results to senior stakeholders
• Work closely with Pricing teams acting as the go-to Valuation expert for a set group of countries
• Utilise capital modelling tools to create dependable business projections and forecast results
• Provide model refinements and assumption reviews during implementation and documentation
