Job description
Endoscopy Nurse
We are looking for enthusiastic Band 5 nurses who are compliant in Endoscopy practices, to fill ongoing and last-minute placements within an acute setting.
Through joining our team, you will be providing excellent nursing care on a regular basis. Taking charge and actively participating in and contributing to the management of the ward or department. Participate in the decontamination, traceability and maintenance of endoscopes and other specialised equipment used in endoscopic and non-endoscopic procedures and providing technical assistance during such procedures.
Main duties of the job
Perform ongoing evaluations of patient's condition and responses to medical and nursing plan of care, modifying plan and taking action as needed.
Intervene appropriately and effectively in emergency situations using technical skill and professional judgement.
Administer and document prescribed medications and IV solutions in a manner consistent with knowledge of purpose, side effects, contraindications, and established guidelines according to hospital policy.
Responsible for assessing, planning, and implementing and evaluating care for patients admitted for therapeutic or diagnostic procedures in Endoscopy unit.
Assists the endoscopist in diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
Responsible for patients/ family education.
The endoscopy staff nurse evaluates assigned patients and plans, implements and documents nursing care.

Requirements
A valid NMC Pin
A minimum of 12 months experience within Endoscopy care in an acute setting.
CPR, ACLS, and BCLS Certification
EPP and Non EPP Immunisation Clearance
