Applications are invited for a Research Associate position in Neuroinflammation/ Complement Biology in the UK DRI at Cardiff University School of Medicine, based at the Hadyn Ellis Building, and Henry Wellcome Building.

This post will join an ongoing programme of research that aims to develop novel drugs for targeting neuroinflammation in dementias. The work focusses on developing new drugs targeting the complement system, in collaboration with the Oxford Dementia Drugs Discovery Institute. The ultimate aim of the work is to identify new therapeutic strategies to modulate complement dysregulation in dementias.

Candidates with Postgraduate degree at PhD level (or nearing completion / submission) in a related subject area and experience in immunology, neuroimmunology and/or drug development or relevant industrial experience are encouraged to apply.

The post is full time (35 hours per week), fixed term for a period of 16 months and available immediately.

Salary: £39,347 - £44,263 per annum (Grade 6). Appointments to roles at Cardiff University are usually made at bottom of scale unless in exceptional circumstances.
