The opportunity

Cardiff Metropolitan is looking to appoint an enthusiastic Admissions Officer to support the activities of a busy Admissions Unit.

The post holder will deliver a professional, fair and efficient applicant experience to UK and International applicants, whilst providing the academic schools with advice on process and acting as the institutional repository for qualifications expertise.

The role holder will be responsible for their own portfolio of programmes, ensuring consistent assessment of applications submitted. The role holder will provide a high level of customer service to applicants, make decisions on applications and ensure they have the relevant entry requirements, short-list applicants for interview, and work closely with key stakeholders including Admissions Tutors.

Working efficiently and flexibly, the role plays a key part in the delivery of an excellent applicant experience and assisting the University to meet its student number targets by admitting suitably qualified applicants.

What we are looking for

The successful person should have experience in a similar role and be used to working in a busy environment, providing an excellent level of service to both applicants, staff and external bodies. Knowledge and understanding of Higher Education Admissions and the Student recruitment process is required as well as UK, EU and International qualifications.

You will be an enthusiastic and friendly professional with excellent communication, and interpersonal skills coupled with a commitment to providing an excellent student experience.

Applicants must be well organised and have a methodical approach with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Attention to detail is a key requirement for the post. As well as experience of reviewing processes and procedures for making recommendations for improvement.
