Head of Chemistry

St. Julian's School

Location

Portugal | United Kingdom

Job description

St. Julian’s School is seeking to appoint an experienced and innovative Head of Chemistry to lead our team of dedicated chemistry teachers as part of the Science Faculty. There are over 600 students in the Secondary section and students follow a bespoke KS3 programme with a wide range of subjects. They go on to study for GCSEs and then the IB Diploma in Year 12 and 13. Our results are excellent, but we are also committed to the holistic development of good people.

The bespoke Key Stage 3 curriculum is designed to develop key skills as a foundation for further study. All students study 6 hours of science in our 2 week timetable in Key Stage 3. At GCSE students can choose Double Award or Triple Science and the trend is usually around 50% in each. At IB Diploma, many students continue with more than one science and we introduce Environmental Systems and Societies as an option. The Science Faculty is large, well resourced and supported by 3 technicians.
