Job description

We are looking for a ganger to join HS2. The role will be based in Coleshill.As a groundworks ganger, you will be responsible for overseeing all the logistics of groundworks. Duties may include creating work schedules for your team, and allocating responsibilities. You might also be required to conduct site visits and report to senior managers on project progress.The role of a groundworks ganger involves the following duties: Ensuring the correct setup and organisation of siteEnsuring that Risk Assessments are carried out daily and all SHE requirements are undertaken to maintain a consistent, safe delivery of service. Communicating the essential information in any risk assessments, method statements and other H&S documentsOverseeing the logistical requirements of a projectDelegating work to groundworkers within your teamMeeting regularly with other managers to report on progressSetting targets, objectives and responsibilities for all supervised staffRegularly reviewing timings, budget, labour, and project plans to ensure work stays on trackConducting site visits to inspect work, check materials and ensure staff are following health and safety guidelinesDealing with contracts and mitigating the impact of any issuesEnsuring the delivery of high-quality work within contract timescales Pay rate: £19.63 ph PAYEOvertimes: O/T after 10hrs at x1.33 in a week, and weekend O/T at x1.5Start date: ASAP for the right candidateHours: Mon - Fri 7.30am - 5.30pm (1 hour break each day)Requirements: Blue CSCS, SSSTS, EUSRPlease apply by submitting your up-to-date CV.
