CPI has an exciting opportunity for two Maintenance Technician Apprentices to join the established and growing Operational Engineering team within the Medicines Manufacturing Innovation Centre based in Paisley, near Glasgow Airport.
The Operational Engineering team deliver a broad range of engineering skills to assist with the delivery of commercial and collaborative R&D projects in the areas of pharmaceutical innovation.
You will be part of a team providing technical expertise, capability and input contributing to the delivery of projects in the broad area of pharmaceutical innovation.
You will work closely with the project teams to deliver new public and privately funded projects. You will have the opportunity to work at the interface of academia and industry, with a large number of projects, partners, technologies and market sectors. This variety will give you the opportunity to work on fundamental science/R&D as well as product development and commercialisation. You will gain hands on experience maintaining state of the art pharmaceutical equipment, cleanrooms and facility.
The Role
This is a transformative role with your focus revolving around the challenges set by the Medicines Manufacturing Innovation Centre (MMIC), propelling the delivery for ground-breaking GMP innovation projects. As an engineering apprentice you will be providing support to CPI assets whilst working under supervision on a range of activities to meet objectives and contribute to project work.

To be considered for the role it is essential that the candidate possess a minimum of 5National 5’s or 5GCSEs grade A‑C (9– 4), including English Language, Mathematics and a Scientific subject and have working Knowledge of basic IT packages.
It would be great if you also had or be predicted to achieve 3Highers or A Levels (or equivalent e.g., BTEC National Certificate), one of which must be in a scientific subject.
