Richmond CVS
Location
Richmond, Greater London | United Kingdom
Job description
Salary: £26,000 per annum pro rata / 22.5 hours per week
Are you a creative individual who could inspire funders and fundraisers to help improve access to mental health provision?
Richmond Borough Mind (RB Mind) is looking for a passionate, creative, and committed individual who can enthuse and inspire funders, fundraisers and donors to help improve access to mental health provision across the borough of Richmond.
This role is a great opportunity for anyone with the right transferable skills looking to get into a career within the mental health sector, or someone who has a background in fundraising who would like to make a difference in the local community.
RB Mind is a proud member of the Mind Federation, but a local and independent charity entirely responsible for raising the funds needed to run their services. They have had a sustained period of growth from under £1m turnover in 2019 to over £2m in 2023/2024, adding some significant services and contracts to their offering.
The pandemic shone a spotlight on mental health and there has been massive growth in their work since then. You’ll help to sustain these services and work towards providing support for unmet need. In Richmond there are worrying mental health statistics, particularly amongst children and young people. Of all London Boroughs, Richmond is amongst the worst for admissions to hospital from self-harm and high levels of negative coping strategies.
The Fundraising Officer is a new role, helping to drive and accelerate community fundraising and maximising RB Mind’s income through grants. It will contribute to the development of their fundraising strategy across all income streams: individual giving, corporate, community fundraising (individuals and organisations), legacy and Trusts and Foundations.
You may already have experience as a successful fundraiser, or you’ll have the transferable skills, probably gained in a marketing role or other business discipline where you’ve developed your research and analytical skills to become a persuasive story teller and writer of compelling arguments. You’ll also have an interest in mental health and wellbeing with a passion to make a difference.
RB Mind values diversity and difference, welcoming applicants from all sections of the community, particularly individuals with lived experience of mental health problems.
The closing date for applications is 9am on Wednesday 23 August 2023.
Interviews will be held week commencing 28 August 2023.
