SCVO are looking for an experienced highly motivated payroll individual to join our busy payroll team. Our payrollservice provides payroll to over 400 organisations across the voluntary sector in Scotland, processing monthly,weekly and fortnightly payrolls to over 7500 employees.
The Scottish Council for Voluntary Organisations is the national body representing the voluntary sector. Our missionis to support, promote and develop a confident, sustainable voluntary sector in Scotland.
This post can be based in Edinburgh, Glasgow or Inverness. SCVO staff can work a blend of office and home onagreement with their team and line manager, and within the parameters of our Blended Working policy.

Do you have technical experience of using Salesforce, particularly of Salesforce Flow development? Would you like tojoin a team focussed on making funding accessible, flexible and sustainable for the voluntary sector inScotland?
We’re looking for someone with a sound knowledge of Salesforce and a talent for building strong relationships. We useour Salesforce Grant Management system to deliver an excellent user experience for applicants and grantholdersof our own and to other funder’s programmes. You will play a key part in our team, ensuring that our fundingteam, and other funders we support, have expert technical support to ensure they can provide the best experiencefor their grantholders.

The Community Garden was established in 2021 with food grown in the 2 years following. Whilst one aim is to growfruit and vegetables for our Community Fridge Project, the overall space is designed to allow the wider sharingof knowledge, such as: how to grow fresh food; how to support wildlife; how to improve the local environment;and much more; and, to encourage community participation and engagement.
We have been working in partnership with NHS Lothian and West Lothian Council on a Whole Systems Approach to Type 2Diabetes. This partnership project has been instrumental in securing funding for this project to deliverenterprising activities and opportunities designed to support local people to achieve such things as betterhealth and wellbeing (with positive mental and physical impacts, and educational opportunities.
Currently open on Monday and Thursday afternoons the aspiration is to open more to expand the activities /opportunities on offer.
Job Role
This role will coordinate and deliver varied activities and opportunities from the Community Garden, addingorganisational capacity through bringing new skills, knowledge and enthusiasm to the project.
This delivery will include, but is not limited to: increased health and wellbeing activities; knowledge sharingthrough increased educational offerings; add varied activities and levels of support for our volunteers.
People skills and a positive attitude is a must for this volunteer and public facing role.
The KPT Development Trust (KPTDT) is a charitable company, established in 2018 to work with local people, communitycouncils, the regional council and others, to tackle:
• jobs, disadvantage and conditions of life generally;
• the provision of local services and infrastructure;
• the protection, improvement and promotion of the local environment; and
• the advancement of the local, cultural heritage;
across the rural communities of Keir, Penpont and Tynron.
Since its establishment, the Trust has:
• opened and maintained a central office / drop-in resource centre, with a part-time Development Officer;
• set up a hydro-electric scheme which produces green energy and raises funds for community projects;
• opened a community café, meeting place and art gallery which employs 7 part-time staff (3 full-time equivalent) and7 volunteers;
• created a community garden employing a part-time gardener working with a team of around a dozen volunteers;
• developed a bicycle-friendly infrastructure and e-bike rental scheme with an associated events programme;
• promoted and signposted local walks and cycling routes;
• constructed the first phase of a 3.5-km active travel path which will eventually join the community with Thornhilla safe and sustainable way;
• provided broadband in local village halls;
• supported nearly 100 households during the recent cost of living crisis with loft insulation, shop and cafevouchers, fuel, blankets and flasks, etc.;
• completed a feasibility study and public consultation for a proposed affordable housing scheme for localresidents.
The Trust keeps local residents aware of all of these developments, and more, through a weekly bulletin that isemailed to local households, posted on Facebook and circulated as hard copies to local community sharingboxes.
This is a rare opportunity to work in a beautiful part of rural Dumfriesshire, Scotland, helping to develop andsustain local communities. The right person will be a sociable, self-starter who will help the Trust tomaintain, manage and promote its many achievements to date as well as developing new projects in tandem withdirectors, volunteers and other members of the local community.
