Community Responder – South West Essex
Salary: On-call retainer payment per shift (even if you don't get called out) and additional payment per call out
Shifts: On-call rota, shifts of 7am – 7pm, 7pm – 7am
Location: Travel required covering Basildon and Brentwood

Our Response Services team is growing and are looking for Community Responders for their 24/7 service. As a Community Responder you will respond to our vulnerable customers in their own homes in the event of their pendant alarm being pressed.
As this is a 24/7 response service, rota’s will be allocated by on-call shifts. Each on-call shift will receive a flat rate minimum payment, and any callouts will be paid an additional rate, of which mileage is also claimable.
If you can commit to at least one on-call shift per week, which can be either the same shift each week or variable, we want to hear from you!
To be considered as a Community Responder, you need:
Permanent right to live and work in the UK
Driving license and use of personal vehicle for work purposes, insured for business use
Confident in driving at night and finding customer homes
To be immediately available during on-call shifts to travel to customer homes
To be able to lift customers who have fallen, using specialist equipment (full training and equipment provided)
Previous experience in the care industry is not essential, we’re looking for:
A passion to provide a high level of care and support to vulnerable adults and a commitment to the wellbeing of our customers
The ability to lone work while out on-call
Effective communication skills to liaise with our Contact Centre to organise urgent care or specialist treatment and provide detailed handovers to next of kin or emergency services where required
The ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, colleagues, and other professionals

£46 on-call retainer payment for shifts
Get paid for your shift even if you don't get called out to a customer
Additional £25 per call out (up to two hours)
Full induction and training at £10.50 per hour
45p mileage allowance (up to 10,000 miles p/a)
