The role of a Packaging Engineer is to execute solutions on packaging design and usage and related safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
Executes solutions relating to packaging design, usage and related safety, quality, delivery, and cost factors.
Designing packaging for products or parts; providing detailed guidance and specifications to suppliers.
Identifying parts and material suppliers to determine the optimal method of packaging product for various situations.
Following procedures in approving all packaging for a specific product line. Monitoring and evaluating quality and effectiveness of existing packaging; addressing issues caused by transportation damage.
Evaluating packaging materials, automation technologies and machinery, and reporting the results regularly.
Evaluates business impact of failure and the criticality and timing of needed resolution .
Adheres to the packaging development process and assists in executing key packaging phases .

Required Qualifications:
Able to demonstrate significant experience gathered within an industrial packaging / material handling equipment context.
Is capable of utilising 3D CAD software in order to perform design reviews
When required, is able to demonstrate both empathy and assertiveness when communicating a need or defending a position.
Has strong project management experience and can provide examples of project leadership.
