Role

This is a new role in a really impactful, empowering and supportive values-led environment. This is not a typicalbusiness development role but rather an exciting opportunity to have a more strategic approach by starting withlearning, policy and research rather than chasing funding opportunities.

There is specific work to share the approach and impact of our £2m 5-year Lifting Neighbourhoods Together approachwith a wider audience in the public and third sectors.

This is a diverse role in a diverse organisation. Community Renewal Trust has 45 staff and a wide array of work inneighbourhoods and social enterprises. This includes: two neighbourhood teams delivering a whole-person,whole-neighbourhood approach; two food pantries; a team of Roma staff supporting Scotland’s Roma with advice andcommunity development; a consultancy social enterprise; and Caledonia Funeral Aid.

Our focus is on ending poverty for households and whole-neighbourhoods, not just tacking poverty or mitigatingpoverty; our learning about this from both successes and failures is extremely relevant and needs to be sharedwidely.

Because this is a new role we are open to suggestions and negotiating options for this post.

The community group was established in 2018 and in 2021 the group secured the Coatbridge Stadium building to delivera community hub in North Lanarkshire to encourage active participation and support mental health and well-beingthrough sports, activities, events and give local people a sense of belonging. We have achieved numeroussuccesses to date, most notably the development and growth of the centre over the past two years for the use ofthe community. The role will report directly to Cliftonville & Coatdyke Community Group (CCCG) Board ofDirectors and be responsible for the line management of 8-10 part time staff as well as volunteers. The postwill also work closely the Community Development Officer and various partners, including many localorganisations, and across the wider community.

Due to the imminent retiral of its long-serving current Director, this forward-thinking organisation seeks to appointa proactive, experienced, self-motivated professional to lead it through an important period of change. Thesuccessful candidate will use their proven clinical, managerial, and leadership skills to sustain and deliverthe charity’s core counselling service while imaginatively developing the organisation in the coming years. Witha lead role in the future of such a unique and highly respected organisation, the new Director will help tochange people’s lives and deliver affordable therapy to a wide diversity of people.

The PF Director has both clinical and organisational responsibilities, ranging from managing the flow of clients fromapplication to ending, across to the financial sustainability and future development of services. Although thestaff team is small, the role also includes the recruitment and management of a large and diverse team ofvolunteer counsellors.

We are a leading provider of practice placements for students studying counselling and psychotherapy in Scotland. TheDirector therefore also maintains relationships with a range of local and national institutions providingprofessional counselling training.

PF Counselling Service

The PF Counselling Service is a COSCA Recognised voluntary counselling agency which offers both short and long termtherapy to people over the age of 18, irrespective of their ability to pay, or where they live in Edinburgh andthe Lothians. A registered Scottish charity, it was established in 1986 and is now the largest independentvoluntary counselling service in Edinburgh.

Based in south Edinburgh, the PF offers over 15,000 sessions of counselling a year to over 750 clients, provided byaround 100 professionally trained volunteer counsellors. An experienced and active Board of Trustees providesgovernance and support to the staff team of five, which is responsible for all aspects of delivering theservice.

We are looking for a passionate and committed individual to join Corra Foundation’s Finance team. This is an excitingopportunity to support the implementation of Corra’s long term finance strategy, as well as supporting, managingand training the wider finance team.

Working across Corra with the Head of Finance the postholder will have a detailed knowledge of charity accountingprinciples, and a track record of successfully leading and managing a finance team. The successful applicantwill have strong analytical skills and be able to demonstrate both operational and strategic thinking. You willhave a proficiency in accounting software and be able to evidence successful production of annual accounts andmonthly reporting, ensuring monitoring delivery against budgets.

Ideally, you will have practical experience of project accounting, restricted funds and grant-making activities.

Additionally, you should have excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills, and experience ofexplaining complex financial information to other operational colleagues, and non-finance managers.

You should have experience of working in the charitable sector and handling charitable accounts, as well as having ahigh level of emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills.

As with other Corra staff, there will be the requirement to be flexible and to provide support for other aspects ofCorra business as and when required.

We have an exciting opportunity for a creative and strategic leader who excels in a senior management position and aspart of a leadership team. You will be someone with communications and development / fundraising experience whocan raise the profile of the SBS brand, engage both existing and new audiences to respond by supporting the SBSmission, and motivate a staff team to deliver our organisational objectives. You will have experience ofdesigning and managing campaigns that help meet fundraising targets for a charitable organisation, or abackground in leading campaign strategies that drive sales for a commercial organisation.

The role leads the communications and donor care teams and reports to the Chief Executive. You will be articulate,have strong influencing skills and proven stakeholder management skills to work with all levels of staff in theorganisation, our board of directors, and external partners. This is a senior role in an organisation with astrong Christian ethos, therefore there is an occupational requirement that the post holder is a practisingChristian.
