Graduate Teaching Fellow in Optometry
SBU/Department: Life and Medical Sciences, Clinical, Pharmaceutical and Biological Sciences
FTE:1.0FTE (or 0.8fte considered)
Duration of Contract: Permanent
Salary: UH6 £31,396pa to £37,099 (pro rata if part-time) by annual increments on achieving designated skills and experience
Annual Leave: 35 days (pro rata if part-time) plus standard public holidays and an additional 4 days including the closure of our office between Christmas and New Year

Main duties and responsibilities
To support the development and delivery of the undergraduate and postgraduate Optometry portfolio. This would include supporting placement provision, student experience, and engagement with our external stakeholders and partners as well as undertaking a range of general administrative duties. To ensure accurate completion of optometry learning, administration, and teaching in full compliance with legal, professional, and University requirements. You will also be expected to assist with coordinating learning activities and key departmental events.
Skills and experience required
The successful candidate will ideally have a background in optics and an understanding of the elements of the optometry programme. They will have exceptional communication and organisational skills and work accurately under pressure to tight deadlines.
Qualifications required
Having minimum of a good honours degree or equivalent level qualification in the discipline or a related discipline or equivalent experience.
