1:1 SEMH Support

Teaching Personnel in partnership with a specialist provision in Preston/ Bamber Bridge/ Leyland and Chorley are looking to hire Support Workers. You will need to be able to travel to Leyland and having experience working in the care/ support or education sector is desirable.

The role

As a 1:1 SEN Support Assistant you will be working with an individual pupil who requires additional support. The provision is a SEMH specialist provision catering for pupils aged between 5-18 years all who will have an EHC plan. As a 1:1 you will be required to follow your pupils EHC plan and put their needs first. The behaviour within the school can be very challenging so you will need to be able to diffuse high pressured situations in a calm and professional manner whilst putting the needs of the pupils first.
- Full-time hours Monday - Friday.
- Competitive hourly rate £13.00 - £15.25 p/h.
- Experience in the care/support/ education system desirable.
- No relevant qualifications to education required.
- Preston/ Bamber Bridge/ Leyland/ Chorley based - able to travel to and from daily.

The provision

This provision caters for pupils aged 5-18 who have SEMH additional needs and require support for both their education and development. The specialist staff who work at this provision are trained to safeguard each pupil wellbeing whilst following the provisions policies to ensure all individual needs are being met and put first. The provision is a high-pressured environment, so you must be able to work under pressure whilst maintaining a calm and professional manner, ensuring all protocols and policies are still being adhered to throughout, putting the needs of your pupils first. The provision offers a broad and balanced curriculum, including the National Curriculum where appropriate, enabling students to study the core subjects of English, Science, and ICT alongside an extensive range of foundation subjects and vocational learning, relevant to each key stage.
