Job description

Post Title: Highway Inspector – Engineering & Streetscene

Team: Operations – Engineering & Streetscene

Hours:            37 per week

Salary:            Grade 9 – currently £29,269 to £32,076   

Bury Council has an exciting position for a suitably qualified and experienced Highway Inspector.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering a varied role, requiring knowledge and experience in Highway Safety Inspections, NRSWA, highway enforcement, greenspaces inspections and supervision of reactive highway maintenance works.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential to this customer facing role.

You must be self-motivated and able to work independently and with initiative, prioritising workloads, and meeting deadlines.

Normal hours of work are 37 hours per week based around the usual business working week, with attendance at evening meetings in accordance with the needs of the service.
