Position: Area Manager
Location: Berkshire area
Sector: Contract Catering
Salary: £30k per annum (38 weeks of school term time and an additional 3 weeks throughout the year)
Our client is a national school meal provide who provides freshly made school meals across the UK. They are one of the fastest growing school meal providers in the UK and a lot of their business is generated from word-of-mouth recommendations. They supply means to around 600 UK schools currently.
My client is looking for an area manager to cover the Berkshire area (Newbury, Reading, Basingstoke, and Maidenhead areas). As an area manager you will manage the catering services across local school sites ensuring the company and school standards are met. You will also be responsible for assisting with financial management and ensuring service is consistent and of a high standard.
Your duties will include:
* Managing a patch of schools and be responsible for the day to day running of the area, training and setting targets with kitchen managers.
* Liaising with school business managers through various communication methods.
* Implement food safety policies where applicable.
* Overall responsibility for health & safety standards across your area.
* Dealing with HR matters such as appraisals, disciplinaries etc.
* Recruitment & retention of staff.

In order to be successful you will have a proven track record of managing others and experience in a similar orle and environment.

The ideal candidate will have:
* The ability to build and maintain effective client relationships.
* Recognised Food Hygiene and Catering qualifications.
* Craft skills.
* Experience in Education Catering.
* Previous experience in a similar role.
* Excellent communication skills.
* IT literate.
* GCSE or equivalent in Maths & English.
* The position is subject to a successful DBS clearance (cost covered by Dolce).
* A full UK driving license with own car is essential.
This role would be suited to a established multi site supervisor or someone with extensive knowledge and experience in Education catering and is looking for a step up to a muti site management role.
