Are you looking for an opportunity to gain valuable experience in the world of Fashion and Merchandising? The role of an Allocator is integral to the wider Merchandising team to ensure that stock is directed to stores in the right volumes, at the right time, to optimise profitability. It's all about maximising profit through efficient stock movement, potentialising sales and minimising markdown.
This role is a full-time, permanent position working from our Head Office in Havant. This entry-level position would suit someone with administration or retail experience, strong basic maths skills and a passion for fashion would be a huge bonus!
Main Duties and responsibilities:
- Understand and be aware of the department strategy, and produce historical analysis as required.
- Ensure all contracts are updated and reported correctly on the system and intake reports.
- Be aware of forecast and plan sales, intake, stock and markdown on the WSSI.
- Review style and category performance and make suggestions for the replenishment and movement of warehouse stock.
- Liaise with suppliers, imports, and logistics on all deliveries a deal with queries as they arise.
- Responsible for the availability of stock to ensure 100% launch and that intake targets are achieved in line with WSSI requirements, (including Home Shopping).
- Carry out all allocation and replenishment activity to ensure prompt and effective distribution of stock and ensure that target branch stock levels are maintained.
- Build a sound knowledge of the store portfolio through contact with retail and store visits, to further feedback into allocation decisions.
- Carry out branch merchandising in line with central planning recommendations, in order to potentialise good store performance and to deal with problem stores.
- Ensure new store packages meet all deadlines and stock levels in accordance with central planning.
- Initiate and undertake ad hoc analysis as requested by the Merchandiser.
- Ensure all Warehouse and store queries are dealt with efficiently and quickly.
- Develop self through store, competitor, and supplier visits, and through increased awareness of other HO functions and company issues.
- Undertake training of new Allocators as required.
- Align self to companies social and environmental mission and champion any actions that you can directly impact at all times.
Role Competencies
- Use of CIMS and Excel.
- Understanding of customer profile competitors and product offer.
- Basic understanding of merchandising working practices and terminology.

- Good communication skills - management and crew level.
