• Take the wheel and operate our cutting-edge autonomous bus service.
• Ensure the vehicle autonomy system is primed and ready for daily operations.
• Keep our buses gleaming inside and out, maintaining a pristine environment for passengers.
• Support maintenance efforts by transporting the bus to Oxa Sites and third-party garages as required.
• Play a vital role in vehicle and software testing to ensure seamless service code releases.
  
  

Other Possible Activities:

• Showcase your expertise behind the wheel as you drive our fleet of vehicles, both on and off-road, accumulating miles and demonstrating the safety of autonomous technology.
• Collaborate closely with Test Engineers to put the latest code and features through rigorous testing.
• Support captivating on-road and off-road demonstrations that showcase the capabilities of our technology.
• Embark on thrilling field trials and data collection exercises in outdoor settings, traveling to various test sites and industry partners across the globe.
• Contribute to the ongoing evolution of our technology through continued code development, testing, and complexity enhancements.
• Embrace opportunities for growth by undergoing training for new skills or features as needed to stay at the forefront of advancements.
  
  

Non-driving Activities:

• When not behind the wheel, you'll take on the important task of documenting and sharing your insights with relevant parties.
• Duties include completing driver logbooks, documenting field notes, reporting safety concerns, and updating the Oxa Cloud platform.
• Provide valuable feedback on your experiences to your peers, Test Engineers, and Software teams, fostering collaboration and continuous improvement.
• Share your innovative ideas with your team and the wider business, contributing to a culture of creativity and progress.
• Stay tuned in to company communications, listening attentively and taking action as needed to drive our mission forward.

Requirements

• Clean category D1 (full) or D licence holder
• Demonstrate several years of driving experience, as a professional driver: Bus/Coach/PSV
• Demonstrate a very high level of concentration.
• Possess excellent judgement of live road and traffic situations.
• Demonstrate a flexible approach to work - when the vehicles are not running there will be opportunities to assist with other tasks.
• Able to work a 7.5 hour day: 37.5 hours a week, Monday - Friday
• Bus service runs in shifts 0600-1330 or 1200-1930
• Rarely outside of normal hours, but if so, on a voluntary basis, notified in advance.
  
  

Extra kudos if you have:

• Advanced driving qualifications

• Experience as HGV driver, Drone Pilot, Motorcycle and/or other vehicle instructor, emergency services, rapid response etc or within an automotive prototype vehicle testing role.
• Experience working with prototype test vehicles.
• Experience in testing vehicles on proving grounds or race / closed road environments.
• Experience of working as a vehicle technician (mechanical & electrical tasks).
• Experience with drones and/or radio/remote controlled vehicles.
• C+E licence.
• An interest in robotics and computing.

• One developed from a professional passenger vehicle driving role.

• (rapid response, instruction, HGV etc)

• One developed from a motorsports / rally role
• One developed from a vehicle testing background (ADAS/ESC/LKAS)
