SEN Teaching Assistant (multiple roles available)

School settings in Sheffield and surrounding areas

Numerous school settings in Sheffield and across South Yorkshire are currently seeking to recruit support staff to work within their sites to support SEN students in general classrooms and on a 1-1 basis.

Working as an SEN Teaching Assistant, you are responsible for working with the Class Teacher to support their students in both larger settings and one-to-one basis’. They are expected to be understanding and efficient, helping facilitate a calm and productive learning environment for children with special educational needs. The ideal candidates will be compassionate and skilled in dealing with the challenges and opportunities special educational needs provide.

Start Date: ASAP
Full Time & Part Time

Pay: £80 – £100 per day

Role responsibilities:

• Consider and cater for the complex needs of students, both physical and emotional, in a positive manner.
• Report on pupils progress and assess their development, conversing with teachers to assist in building plans to promote this.
• Encouraging and reinforcing positive behaviours.
• Build strong teacher-student relationships and ensuring students feel heard and develop trust to help achieve the best in their learning.
• Providing classroom management and academic assistance to teachers, ensuring resources/lessons/activities are prepped accordingly.

Successful candidates will need:

• A Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent (ideal)
• A full UK driving license (essential)
• Previous experience working with children and young people
• Previous experience in the Education or Care Sector
