A global organisation specialising in the design and manufacture of counter-espionage and emanation control products for Government and UK Defence organisations.

Info about what the role entails

To design and detail Mechanical housings and enclosures for electronic systems used throughout the Defence and Cyber-security sectors, in line with detailed design specifications working towards building a large offering of standard product lines as well as bespoke design solutions.

Support, complete and create full product drawing packs to the highest of standards, get hands on and assist with the build of prototype units with the opportunity to see the product from conception through to full product launch and maintain it through its lifespan.

Essential Requirements of the Mechanical Design Engineer

• HNC in Mechanical Engineering.
• Further education/courses associated with mechanical engineering and membership in a recognised Mechanical Institute an advantage.
• Experience in designing and drafting using 3D and 2D CAD tools, preferably SolidWorks.
• A strong understanding of manufacturing processes and their associated cost drivers.
• A clear understanding of fabrication, sheet metal, machined components, and manufacturing practices.
• SC cleared or ability to obtain.
