Business Description
Our client is a specialist care home group who are looking for a new FC to join and manage their accounts team. Reporting directly to the MD and leading a team of three staff this role will have full responsibility for the finance function. The business has a turnover of £13.5 million and 350 staff.
Assignment Details
- Support FM in preparing monthly & annual accounts to final TB
- Ensure compliance with statutory regulations including tax compliance, review of Statutory Accounts
- Manage relationships & liaise with third parties such as insurance brokers, utilities suppliers, provider of pension schemes & other service contracts
- Oversee cash flow management & analysis
- Banking relationships – including cheque signatory
- Work with the MD to prepare annual budgets and regularly update forecasts
- Provide expert financial support/advice to colleagues and managers to enable effective financial management
- Control expenditure in line with budgets/approved expenditure Develop and maintain an effective system of internal control for safeguarding company's assets
- Oversee the submission & payment of all tax matters
- Manage and develop the finance team to ensure high/improved performance
- Meet regularly with senior management team to keep informed and to offer insights and guidance
- Oversee regular stock takes, reconciling
- Provide financial support to plans for expansion through acquisition or with new builds
Skills Required
- Qualified accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA)
- Ability to manage, motivate and develop a team.
- Experience of SAGE 50 cloud, Maintain X and Access will be an advantage
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Keen analytical mind; ability to be imaginative and proactive
- Constructively challenge at a senior level - confidence & ability to challenge the status quo and internal decision making
- Demonstrable ability to provide clear concise financial analysis for non-finance audience
- Confident and effective communicator - able to liaise with all levels of the organisation
- Experienced in working within a busy / time pressured finance team as part of a team and use initiative to work competently alone
