Job description

The Council of Christ’s Hospital seeks to appoint a successor to Simon Reid who is retiring after eight years of outstanding service. This is a once-in-a-generation opportunity to lead a school that exemplifies the power of education to transform lives.

The next Head will be a leader of exceptional calibre who can demonstrate a genuine commitment to the charitable and social mission of the Christ’s Hospital such that they will be able to provide strategic and inspirational leadership as the school enters an exciting phase in its evolution.

Founded in 1552, Christ’s Hospital supports over three-quarters of its pupils financially, enabling young people from a wide range of socio-economic and cultural backgrounds to thrive and fulfil their potential.

The school enjoys a beautiful rural setting of 250 acres, with sweeping sport fields, a purpose-built theatre, spectacular quadrangle and impressive buildings: an ongoing programme of renovation and rebuilding ensures that the facilities remain modern and up to date.
