We have an exciting opportunity for a Recovery Coordinator in our Forth Valley Service to support Falkirk CouncilJustice Council Justice Service, who has the skills and experience to assess and engage with our service users,ensuring that they access the right intervention at the right time, in a way that best meets their needs.

The Wellbeing Services Manager will manage GCA’s Wellbeing Services which include GCA’s Women’s Service and BuildingPositive Pathways Service. GCA’s Women’s Service is a service designed to support survivors of gender basedviolence. This is done through a combination of groupwork and 1-1 support. Building Positive Pathways is aservice designed to support survivors of childhood trauma. Building Positive Pathways offers groupworkthroughout the week, both structured and unstructured, and 1-1 support.

The post holder will support the Head of Community Services to manage and co-ordinate a high-quality service withinGCA, whilst ensuring staff, volunteers and students receive appropriate supervision, support, and guidance. Theservice will be provided from North Claremont Street Office and within community settings.

Organisation Profile:

Glasgow Council on Alcohol (GCA) was founded in 1965 and is the oldest established Council on Alcohol in Scotland.GCA is a voluntary organisation working to reduce the harm caused by alcohol misuse through the provision of arange of high quality advice, information, counselling, support, prevention and education and trainingservices.

GCA deliver services over 6 days per week and throughout Glasgow, East Dunbartonshire and EastRenfrewshire

Please note; As this post will involve work and management of a women’s only service, there is a genuineoccupational requirement to ensure that we recruit a female Wellbeing Services Manager and therefore this postis only open to women (exempt under Schedule 9, Part 1 of the Equality Act 2010).

The successful applicants will be responsible for Near Fatal Overdose (NFO) service delivery throughout Fife.

The NFO service offers a shared care model involving the Scottish Ambulance Service, Fife ADP, and ADAPT and aims tosupport vulnerable people through identification and early intervention of near-fatal overdose and associatedtrauma. Support is also offered for family and friends.

Motivating Service Users, building and strengthening recovery, supporting engagement and compliance with treatmentservices, and assisting with any identified health and social needs, is the focus of this approach.

Successful candidates will have experience of working in a caring vocation and a qualification such as COSCACounselling Skills or SVQ Level II Social Care or similar. They will have good organisation, communication, andIT skills, and can demonstrate an ability to work using their own initiative.

The Café and Activities Lead will oversee the development and running of our community café and support the HubCoordinator with development of new activities and social enterprise projects.

The post holder will work collaboratively with the Hub Coordinator, employees, volunteers, participants, the Board ofTrustees, and other stakeholders to establish a thriving community venue accessible for everyone in the localcommunity and based on the overarching principles of abstinence, trust, peer support, respect, andresponsibility.

The post would suit someone with a genuine passion for interacting with and helping others and who want to take on akey role in providing a safe, inclusive, and welcoming place for community members to come together in Ayr.

Essential requirements for the post include lived experience of recovery from alcohol or drugs or an affected familymember and the ability to work evenings and weekends as required for the role.

The Hub Coordinator will assume overall responsibility for development and running of our new community venueincluding the line management of employees and volunteers, and organising activities and events, and developmentof social enterprise projects.

The post holder will work collaboratively with employees, volunteers, participants, the Board of Trustees, and otherstakeholders to establish a thriving community venue accessible for everyone in the local community and based onthe overarching principles of abstinence, trust, peer support, respect, and responsibility. The post would suitsomeone with a genuine passion for interacting with and helping others and who want to take on a key role inproviding a safe, inclusive, and welcoming place for community members to come together in Ayr.
