The Watergrove Trust is appointing Early Career Secondary Teachers of English, Maths and Science looking for their first position and offering the highest quality of induction and support.
About Watergrove Trust:
The Watergrove Trust is a successful and vibrant community of schools in Rochdale, Greater Manchester, benefitting from close links with the city and the countryside of the South Pennines. From September 2024, the Watergrove Trust will comprise three secondary schools and five primary schools, serving 6,000 children and young people.
Opportunity:
We are excited to offer early career teachers in English, Maths, and Science the opportunity to join our esteemed ECT community. Facilitated by a team including
Jenna King-Jagger (former Teach First trainer and Trust Development Lead);
Ash White (who achieved 10 times the national average in GCSE Grade 7 to 9);
Jodie Neville (who achieved Key Stage 2 progress judged Well Above Average by the DfE.).
This great team has a very strong record in classroom leadership, their care, structuring and professional craft resulting in very few behavioural issues.
Induction and Support:
Successful candidates will benefit from a comprehensive induction program designed to ensure a confident and successful start to their teaching careers. To make the most of this opportunity, successful candidates will be offered the chance to participate in two weeks of fully-paid additional training and guidance during the first two weeks of the summer holiday, to ensure the best and most confident start to their teaching career in September.
The training will focus on two things: classroom leadership, using the theories of Eric Berne, and responsive teaching, demonstrating the professional agility which engages and progresses every learner in a classroom.
This induction forms part of an ongoing extended offer of training, presented on the Watergrove website, designed to constantly enrich professional practice across the Trust.
