Job description
We are recruiting for a Franchise Business Development Manager for one of the UK’s largest Landscape Services companies. They offer the full landscape construction, landscape and grounds maintenance, winter maintenance, tree works, invasive species and site cleansing services covering several sectors(Retail, Facilities Management, Local Authorities and Parks, Corporate Commercial Facilities, Hotel and Leisure, Education, Infrastructure and Highways, Social Housing, Sports, Healthcare and Emergency Services, Ministry of Defence and Utilities).
Within their Grounds Maintenance division, they have over 40 regional locations within England, Scotland and Wales. They employ 600+ team members and deliver grounds maintenance service to more than 10’000 sites a year.
Because of a recent internal promotion, they are seeking a new Franchise Business Development Manager with Grounds Maintenance experience who will be responsible for an area covering the west side of the UK from Scotland through to Birmingham. On offer is a salary of between £50,000 and £55,000 per year, plus bonus, company car, laptop, mobile and 23 days holiday.
The new Franchise Business Development Manager will join an existing team of regional Business Development Managers and have the support of the person recently promoted which will ensure a detailed job handover and the all important ongoing support and advice as well as the support and guidance of the senior management team.
The ideal candidate needs to have grounds maintenance and/or landscape services experience, be both contract and commercially aware with strong business development skills and an understanding of operational management. As such this job is suited to experienced sales professionals, operations managers, contracts managers, business owners and those working in a similar role developing franchisees within the grounds maintenance sector.
Now onto the detail.
As the Franchise Business Development Manager, you will be managing a portfolio of franchisees and be supporting them throughout the training, getting started and growing/developing a successful business in their local area. This will include:
Acting as the link between franchise business owners and Head Office.
Ensuring they are all operating their businesses in the correct manner.
Supporting the continued growth and business development of the company’s franchisee and franchise network.
Working alongside your fellow Franchise Business Development Managers assisting, in the day to day business development and management of franchisees.
Analysing the sales processes and financial performance of the business to advise, motivate and train franchise owners and their staff to grow their business. This will involve monitoring KPI’s, producing reports and sharing these reports and information with the wider business.
Helping to prepare for and accompanying Franchisees on appointments with prospective customers.
Providing in-house training on systems (including CRM) to promote efficiency and productivity.
Training and mentoring your franchisees, supporting field training, working and setting business plans, identifying blockages to business growth, developing bespoke strategies to achieve business growth and increased profitability, monitoring an ensuring plans are followed and providing advice, guidance and information when dealing with issues.
To be considered as the Franchise Business Development Manager you are going to need:
Grounds Maintenance and/or Landscape Services experience.
To have worked as an Operations Manager, Contracts Manager, Business Development Manager, Franchise Business Development Manager or owned your own Grounds Maintenance company.
On offer for the successful Franchise Business Development Manager is:
