Stress Engineer
We are currently working alongside one of the globes largest and most prestigous manufacturing businesses, to help them find a number of experiencedMechanical Stress Engineers on a contract basis helping withthe analysis of some of the businesses main product range.
The company are a long established and incredibly well known manufacturing company producing electro-mechanical solutions across the world for a huge range of industires. As a Stress Engineer you will beresponsible for stress, vibration, and heat transfer analyses. Stress Engineer responsibilities can also include providing technical expertise on a variety of projects and programs.
Key Responsibilities as Stress Engineer:
- Perform stress analysis using complex finite element & classical book calculation methods, & support testing
- Perform heat transfer analysis in practice and theory (analytical correlations and complex finite element methods) and related topics in thermodynamics, single and multi-phase flows, and energy systems
- Provide technical oversight to global engineering teams across time zones
- Provide technical guidance to junior engineers
- Requirements validation
- Project and product compliance
- Risk management
- Process Development
- Root Cause and Corrective Action
Key attributes as Stress Engineer:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or closely related field with emphasis in heat transfer or thermal sciences & stress analysis
- Proficiency in linear static, nonlinear/elasto-plastic, fatigue (HCF & LCF), modal, shock, harmonic, random vibration, & crack growth analyses
- Strong working knowledge of ANSYS finite element software & classical hand calculation methods
- Team Player
- Ability to mentor others
- Significant experience with new product development in a highly regulated environment
- Ability to analyze and solve complex and challenging problems
- Effectively operate in a matrix organization
- Track record of successful contribution to products & projects
- Keen mindset to envision process improvements and execution of such initiatives
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
Pay Rate: £35 - £45 p/h (depending on experience)
Contract duration: 12 months minimum
