Job description

SF Recruitment is currently recruiting for a Product Development Manager to join one of their forward-thinking, continuously growing clients based in Chesterfield. This is a full-time, permanent position working Monday to Friday. You will be joining a fantastic team of people who are successfully driving a long-standing business forward with a new outlook and new principles, along with excellent new offices!

The successful candidate will play a key role in leading the product development process from initial concept right through to launch. The role itself will be responsible for defining product specifications, managing timelines and resources, conducting market research whilst also ensure to comply with relevant regulations. The aim is to work collaboratively to deliver high-quality products that meet customer needs.

Industry experience is ideal for this role, so if you have knowledge of fabrics and/or materials, seasonal products, or experience working within the Outdoors market/industry, this would be hugely advantageous.

This role could be suited to someone with the above experience looking for that next step in their career, or for somebody already operating at Management level. The company have big plans for the development of the department and therefore industry knowledge and experience can go a long way in this role (salary is dependant on experience)!

Typical duties will include:

- Lead the product development process, from generating ideas to successful product launch.
- Define product specifications and requirements based on customer needs, market trends, and business goals
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including sales and marketing, to ensure successful product development
- Manage project timelines, costs, and resources to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality products
- Monitor product performance and customer feedback, identifying areas for improvement.
- Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify product opportunities and stay updated on industry trends.
- Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure high-quality materials and components are used in product development.
- Communicate product updates and changes to internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards in the product development process.
- Manage and prioritise the product development pipeline to ensure a steady flow of new products.
- Take ownership of the product critical path management.
