Leonard Cheshire is one of the UK’s leading charities supporting disabled people. Leonard Cheshire supports individuals to live and work as independently as they choose, whatever their ability. Led by people with experience of disability, we are at the heart of local life – opening up opportunities, choice and support in communities around the UK. This includes providing social care through supported living and registered care homes and supporting disabled people with employment opportunities. We also shape discussions on issues affecting disabled people in the UK.
About the role
In this role you will lead the delivery of Leonard Cheshire’s My Voice My Choice (MVMC) project. This will include managing two Programme Coordinators who will plan and deliver accessible remote and community-based activity for disabled people to empower and enable them to campaign effectively to improve their communities and have their voices heard. Joining this successful programme in its third and final year, you will ensure delivery targets are met, regularly evaluate and report on the progress of the project, and complete final reporting processes for the funder.
The My Voice My Choice programme is designed to develop disabled participants’ campaigning and advocacy skills so that they can make a difference in their local communities.
About you
You will be passionate and committed to working with disabled people to improve choice and opportunities.
You will have experience of project management including developing and delivering a programme framework, to agreed outcomes, timescales, targets and within budget.
You will have experience of managing a team, or significant transferrable skills, and the ability to effectively support professional development. It would be advantageous to have experience of leading a geographically dispersed team.
You will have experience of accurate and strategic budget management.
You will have the capacity to rapidly build up relationships and have strong organisational and communication skills.
You will have experience of evaluation and report writing.
You will have an understanding of GDPR, equal rights and equal opportunities.
You will be confident in working independently, using your own initiative, and have the ability to travel occasionally within or to Wales with prior notice.
It would be advantageous if you have experience of working with disabled people.
It would be advantageous to have a knowledge of inclusive employment and experience of helping individuals or teams with transitions.

Yn y rôl hon byddwch yn arwain ar gyflwyno prosiect My Voice My Choice (MVMC) Leonard Cheshire. Bydd hyn yn cynnwys rheoli dau Gydlynydd Prosiect a fydd yn cynllunio ac yn cyflwyno gweithgarwch hygyrch o bell ac yn y gymuned i bobl anabl i'w grymuso a'u galluogi i ymgyrchu'n effeithiol i wella eu cymunedau a chael dweud eu dweud. Gan ymuno â'r rhaglen lwyddiannus hon yn ei thrydedd flwyddyn a'r flwyddyn olaf, byddwch yn sicrhau bod targedau cyflawni yn cael eu cyrraedd, yn gwerthuso ac yn adrodd ar gynnydd y prosiect yn rheolaidd, ac yn cwblhau prosesau adrodd terfynol ar gyfer y cyllidwr.
