Job Title: Director of Finance and Operations
Are you a dynamic and experienced finance professional looking for a meaningful role that combines financial management with sustainability and social impact? The Sustainable Hospitality Alliance is seeking a Director of Finance and Operations to join our team and lead the development of the finance function across our organization.

Role Overview:
As the Director of Finance and Operations, you will play a crucial strategic and operational role in the implementation of our five-year strategy towards Net Positive Hospitality. You will lead the development of our finance function, oversee outsourced HR and IT providers, and ensure the organization's financial, operational, and administrative systems are robust and compliant.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the principal financial advisor to the Board, CEO, and Senior Management Leadership Team
- Oversee and be responsible for strategic business planning and financial modelling over the mid and long-term to support the delivery of the strategy
- Ensure effective financial management, including budget monitoring, accurate reporting, and VAT compliance
- Manage the production of financial information for the Board and Finance, Risk & Audit sub-committee
- Lead the organizational audit and donor-specific audits, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements
- Manage outsourced HR and IT functions, ensuring quality delivery and value-for-money
- Ensure compliance with financial regulatory requirements, including VAT and other taxes
- Act as the most senior person responsible for data protection and financial governance
- Track cashflow, manage financial reserves, and implement treasury and risk management strategies
- Own the organisational risk management process, ensuring legal compliance across our global operations
- Provide leadership and line management to the Finance and Administration Manager and the Company Secretary
Requirements:
- Qualified CCAB or CIMA accountant, with extensive post-qualification experience.
- Proven track record of holding a senior management position in a similar organization
- Experience in senior Finance and Resources roles in the charity sector, including financial policy formulation and external reporting
- Strong understanding of charity governance, company law, data protection, and regulations applicable to charities
- Experience in preparing statutory accounts, management accounts, and financial reports
- Excellent financial analysis and management skills, with experience in budgeting and forecasting
- Knowledge of HR and IT principles and operations
- Ability to lead and manage staff, resources, and external service providers
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and contract management skills
- Passionate about sustainability and committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion
