Temporary Clerical Officer/Admin – Housing

Pay Rate: £12.18 per hour PAYE

Hours per week: 37 Monday – Friday, normal working hours

Role Length: This opening assignment is for 6-7 months

City: Hengoed, Wales

Hybrid working

Basic DBS disclosure required for this role.

The role will be split between 2 teams, 20 hours with the Tenant and Community Involvement Team and 17 with the Public Sector Housing Team.

The purpose of the role is to provide general clerical support to the Public Sector Housing teams which include Tenant and Community Involvement, Tenancy Enforcement Section, Rents, Older Persons Housing and the Area Housing Office.

Key Responsibilities:

Accurate and timely general clerical support to the Public Sector Housing teams.
Accurate data inputting and extraction of information from administration systems.
Effective liaison with staff, external organisation and the public providing good customer service.
Photocopying/printing and collation of documents.
Shredding of confidential information.
Dealing with internal and external mail.
Arranging meetings and appointments for officers using Microsoft Outlook etc.
File management and setting up of files/records and maintaining files eg filing, archiving, e Production of accurate minutes of meetings, arranging meetings and co-ordinating the submission of reports to various Council committees.
Administration and booking for training short courses, conferences, seminars and administration related to any associated travel requirements for all housing staff and tenants.
Administration of applications from Housing staff for Learning and Development support.

Qualifications:

5 GCSEs Grade A*-C or equivalent.
Relevant Level 2 qualification on the Credit and Qualifications Framework. For example, NVQ2 Business Administration.

Skills & Experience.

Minimum of 12 months recent experience in a similar role, or context and ideally within a public sector organisation.
Experience of working in an admin/clerical department.
Experience of entering data onto a computer based system.
Good standard of practical knowledge of clerical work.
Understanding of the confidentiality issues surrounding working in a housing environment.
Good oral and written communication skills.
Ability to adapt to a wide range of enquiries and situations.
Strong IT skills including Microsoft packages or equivalent (e.g. G Suite).
