Job description

We have an excellent full time opportunity to work as a Consultant Psychiatrist on Pankhurst unit. Priory is the UK's largest independent provider of Mental Health Services and Priory Cheadle Royal Hospital is a specialist provider of complex mental health services, providing clinical excellence across 13 wards which include acute adult wards, Eating Disorder Service, CAMHS, Rehabilitation, Acute and PICU services. Situated on Wilmslow road with easy transport links. Pankhurst is a 10 bedded Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) for adult female patients, who are experiencing an acute phase of mental illness. Pankhurst treats patients with a variety of mental illnesses, including dual diagnosis and those with a complex risk presentation. Pankhurst uses the Safe wards model to promote therapeutic relationships and reduce restrictive interventions. Furthermore, Pankhurst delivers care through work with a full MDT to offer assessment and treatment. The service works closely with the patient, their family and community teams, to achieve individualised goals and ensure discharge pathways are in place. The teams consist of a Consultant Psychiatrist, Speciality Doctor, Clinical Psychologist, Occupational Therapist, Registered Mental Health Nurses and experienced Healthcare Assistants who form the Multidisciplinary teams.
