PHARMACY DEPARTMENT

Senior Pharmacy Assistant –Procurement and Distribution

Salary Band 3

Hours are 37.5hrs per week Monday to Friday. You will also be required to work late night and weekends/bank holidays within the dispensary on rota performing the full range of activities within this area.

The Pharmacy Department at Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust is looking for an enthusiastic Senior Pharmacy Assistant who will support the Team Leader, Procurement, Distribution and Homecare and Pharmacy Procurement and Distribution Officer in delivering high quality, safe and effective procurement and distribution of medicines.

In return we can offer full training and provide development opportunities such as enrolment on a supervisory/management qualification.

The role of the Senior Pharmacy Assistant is continually developing; therefore the successful applicant must hold an NVQ level 2 in Pharmacy Services and must have an extensive working knowledge of medicines. This will support the individual to carry out the main duties for this post.

Walsall Healthcare NHS Trustprovides integrated acute and community Healthcare in the West Midlands serving a population of 260,000 residents. Walsall Manor Hospital houses the full range of district general hospital services. The £170 million development was completed in 2010 and we are continually upgrading. Construction of the new integrated critical care unit was completed in2018, extension of a Neonatal Unit and brand new, state of the art Emergency Department is in the process of being completed.

The successful candidate will be based mainly in the procurement area of the Pharmacy Department to facilitate the daily ordering and chasing of medicines for use in our Trust.
